James E. Comer


James E. Comer, 84, Austin, died Tuesday, March 19, 2002, at Jeffersonville.

Mr. Comer was a retired dairy farmer. He was a member of Little York Christian Church, 50-year member of Independent Order of Odd Fellows, Scott County Farm Bureau Eighth District, Arabian Horse Club, Indiana Arabian Horse Club, Arabian Horse Club of America and various antique farm machinery clubs.

Born Jan. 5, 1918, at Scottsburg, he was the son of Ezra and Lola Moon Comer. He married Mildred Wyman, who survives in Scottsburg.

Other survivors include a son, Ronald W. Comer, Scottsburg; a caregiver, Joe Garza, Scottsburg; five sisters, Jewell Rutherford, Inez Richey, Faye Galvin and Jewell Rutherford, all of Scottsburg, and Dorothy Mullenix, Florida; five grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren.

Greg Shuler and George Trueblood will conduct services at 2 p.m. Saturday at Stewart Funeral Home, Scottsburg. Burial will be in Scottsburg Cemetery.

Friends may call from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. Friday and after 9 a.m. Saturday at the funeral home.

Memorials may be given to Little York Christian Church.
