Maggie M. Henry
Maggie M. Henry, 75, North Vernon, died at 4:35 a.m. Friday, Feb. 22, 2002, at Columbus Regional Hospital.
Mrs. Henry was a homemaker.
Born Feb. 24, 1926, in Lee County, Va., she was a daughter of Kanner Thorpe and Dosie Bolden Thorpe. On Jan. 26, 1953, she married Leroy J. Henry Sr., who died March 28, 1994.
Survivors include a daughter, Doris Henry, North Vernon; a son, Leroy J. Henry, Deputy; four sisters, Thelma Bristow, Jenny Marksberry and Hazel Wright, all of Deputy, and Barbara Philpot, North Vernon; four grandchildren, Tina Walp, Allen Ritchie, John Ritchie and Mike Ritchie, all of North Vernon; and two great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by a daughter, Lena Ritchie Proffitt; a son, Leroy Jr. Henry; two sisters, Dorothy Mae Thorpe and Juanita Thorpe; and a brother, James Thorpe.
Jim Shell will conduct services at 11 a.m. Tuesday at Pickett Funeral Home, North Vernon. Burial will be in Vernon Cemetery.
Friends may call from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. Monday at the funeral home.
