Marvin Lynn Jones

Marvin Lynn Jones, 59, Crothersville, died at 8 a.m. Sunday, Oct. 22, 2006, at Scott Memorial Hospital in Scottsburg.

Mr. Jones was a lifelong farmer on the family farm in Tampico. He also was employed by Brownstown Equipment for more than 36 years as a welder and a mechanic. He enjoyed working around the farm and collecting toy tractors and knives. He attended Alliance Bible Church in Crothersville and was a Crothersville graduate from the Class of 1970.

Born May 29, 1947, in Scottsburg, he was the son of Ivan Jones, who preceded him in death and Fannie Hopper Jones who survives in Brownstown. On March 14, 1992, he married Sherry Hignite Jones, who survives in Crothersville.

Other survivors include a son, Chester Clyde Jones, at home, and a sister, Thelma Norton, Tampico.

The Rev. Rudolph Hamblin and Brother Saul Davidson will conduct funeral services at 2 p.m. Wednesday at Adams Funeral Home, Crothersville. Burial will take place at Russell Chapel Cemetery.

Friends may call from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. today and from noon until time of the service Wednesday at the funeral home.
