Frieda Black Kiser
Frieda Black Kiser, 86, Brownstown, died at 2:14 a.m. Sunday, March 3, 2002, at Hoosier Christian Village, Brownstown.
Mrs. Kiser was a member of Brownstown Church of the Nazarene, the Missionary Society of the church and also the SAM Group (Senior Adult Ministries) of the church. She had worked at Arvin Industries in Columbus and H.O. Canfield in Seymour. She had retired from Bowling Green University, where she was involved with catering and food service.
Born Sept. 17, 1915, in Jackson County, she was the daughter of Orrill and Dora Ellen Reynolds Gibson. On March 31, 1934, she married Hollis Black, who died in 1946. On Dec. 21, 1964, she married Homer Kiser, who died in 1975.
Survivors include four daughters, Mrs. Earl (Norma) Nichols, Bloomington, Mrs. Bill (Bonnie) Combs, New Castle, Mrs. Peter (Ruth) Fritzsche, Northbrook, Ill, and Mrs. Joseph (Joella) Gallion, Brownstown; a son, Roger (Madeline) Black, Albuquerque, N.M.; three brothers, Emil Gibson, Indianapolis, Irvin Gibson, Greenville, Ky., and Norman Gibson, Bedford; 18 grandchildren; 22 great-grandchildren; and 10 great-great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by three brothers, Paul, Lyman and Hubert Gibson, and a great-grandson, Eli Jamison Gallion.
The Rev. Robert Donham will conduct services at 11 a.m. Wednesday at Brownstown Church of the Nazarene. Burial will be in Guthrie Creek Cemetery, Norman.
Friends may call from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. Tuesday at Winklepleck-Weesner Funeral Home, Brownstown, and from 10 a.m. until time of service Wednesday at the church.
Memorials may be given to Brownstone Church of the Nazarene or Hoosier Christian Village Auxiliary.
