Marie Craig Nichols

Marie Craig Nichols, 86, Little York, died April 30, 2002, in Scottsburg.

Mrs. Nichols was a retired bookkeeper for the old Scott Music Store, Scottsburg. She was a member of Little York Christian Church, a former member of the Ladies Aid of Little York Christian Church, a former member of the Homemaker Club of Washington County, a former 4-H leader for Washington County, and the former clerk-treasurer of Little York.

Born Nov. 19, 1915, in Gibson Township, Washington County, she was a daughter of Walter Henry and Goldie Blunt Craig, who preceded her in death.

She is survived by two sons, Roger Nichols, Underwood, and William E. Nichols, San Jose, Calif.; three daughters, Clara Marie Moon and Joyce M. Bright, both of Scottsburg, and Carol Jane Udell, Little York; a sister, Faye Fleenor, Scottsburg; seven grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.

She also was preceded in death by her husband, Chester Nichols; a brother and a sister.

Greg Shuler will conduct funeral services at 2 p.m. Saturday at Stewart Funeral Home, Scottsburg. Burial will be at Little York Cemetery, Little York.

Friends may call from 4 p.m. to 9 p.m. Friday and from 10 a.m. until time of services Saturday at the funeral home.
