Lucille Brandt Pottorff

Lucille Brandt Pottorff, 81, Columbus, died at 12:45 a.m. Tuesday, April 16, 2002, at Hickory Creek Nursing Home.

Mrs. Pottorff was a 1938 graduate of Columbus High School. She owned and operated a Seymour beauty shop for several years and was a member of Elizabethtown United Methodist Church.

Born Oct. 23, 1920, in Azalia, she was the daughter of Samuel C. Stanfield and Lilly M. Suter Stanfield, who both preceded her in death. On June 24, 1939, she married Omer W.H. Brandt and he died Feb. 8, 1982. On Jan. 19, 1985, she then married Roy D. Pottorff and he survives.

She also is survived by a daughter, Patricia Cooney, Dacula, Ga.; a stepdaughter, Hedy George, Columbus; three grandchildren, Robert Cooney, David Cooney and Thomas Cooney; two step-grandchildren, Kyle George and Lesley George; and a great-grandchild, Jason Cooney.

She also was preceded by a brother, Charles Stanfield.

The Rev. Larry McIntosh will conduct funeral services at 10 a.m. Friday at Vernon Jewell-Nick Rittman Funeral Home, Columbus. Burial will be at Riverview Cemetery, Seymour.

Friends may call from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. today and from 9 a.m. until time of services Friday at the funeral home.
