Wilma J. Quillen

Wilma J. Quillen, 74, Fairington, Conn., died at 9:40 a.m. Sunday, Oct. 1, 2006, at Columbus Regional Hospital.

Mrs. Quillen retired from the Agency on Aging.

Born Feb. 8, 1932, in Seymour, she was a daughter of Alfred and Esther England Gaffney, both of whom preceded her in death. On July 23, 1948, she married James K. Quillen, who died Sept. 8, 1975.

Survivors include two daughters, Chanta Quillen, Shelbyville, and Sondra (Daniel) Evans, Hope; a brother, John Gaffney, Seymour; a sister, Beatrice Quillen, Seymour; and two grandchildren, Aimee Evans and Joshua Quillen.

She was preceded in death by two sons, James D. and Christopher L. Quillen, and a brother, Alfred Gaffney.

Funeral services will be conducted at 6 p.m. Wednesday at Barkes, Weaver & Glick Funeral Home on Washington Street in Columbus. Following the service, cremation will take place, then a private inurnment will be conducted at a later date at Daugherty Cemetery.

Friends may call from 5 p.m. until time of service Wednesday at the funeral home.

Memorials may be given to the Columbus Regional Hospital Dialysis Center.
