Mildred Elizabeth Scott
Nov. 21, 1919 - Nov. 24, 2006Mildred Elizabeth Scott, 87, Seymour, died at 12:25 p.m. Friday, Nov. 24, 2006, at Schneck Medical Center, Seymour.
Mrs. Scott retired from Cummins Engine Co. in 1982 after 10 years. She was a member of Immanuel Lutheran Church of Seymour and the Ladies Auxiliary of the American Legion, Veterans of Foreign Wars and Eagles Club in Columbus.
Born Nov. 21, 1919, in Jackson County, she was a daughter of John O. and Mazie E. Ahl Sutton, both of whom preceded her in death. On Sept. 1, 1934, in Jeffersonville, she married James O. Scott, who also preceded her in death.
Survivors include four children, Norma Arlene (Steve) Pierson, Seymour, Valerie Jean Scott, London, England, James Harry (Patricia) Scott, Ohio, and William Carl (Patti) Scott, Georgia; a sister, Sarah Davis, Seymour; 18 grandchildren; 36 great-grandchildren; and 12 great-great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by two daughters, Donna L. Ray and Estella Reynolds; five sisters, Louise Sutton, Norma Sutton, Dorothy Sutton, Margaret Bogue and Alice Robertson; and three brothers, Robert L. Sutton, Clarence Sutton and Gilbert Sutton.
The Rev. Ralph Blomenberg will conduct funeral services at 11 a.m. Tuesday at Voss Chapel, Seymour. A graveside service will follow at Riverview Cemetery, Seymour.
Friends may call from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. today and from 10 a.m. until time of service Tuesday at the funeral home.
Memorials may be given to Immanuel Lutheran Church.
