John W. Toan
John W. Toan, 59, Clarksville, died Sunday, March 24, 2002, at Clarksville.
Mr. Toan was a retired heating and air conditioning technician. He was a member of Oak Park Baptist Church in Jeffersonville and was a volunteer for the American Red Cross and Christian Social Ministries.
Born Aug. 11, 1942, in Jeffersonville, he was a son of Henry Frank and Helen Smallwood Toan. On Nov. 29, 1966, he married Joyce E. Willis, who survives.
Other survivors include a daughter, Pamela Sue Meek, Sellersburg; two sisters, Mary Arbogast, Jeffersonville, and Pat Mosley, Henryville; six brothers, James McFarland, Louisville, Rex Landers, Jeffersonville, Kelly Duvall, Texas, Gary Duvall, Charlestown, Robert Hicks, Sellersburg, and Stanley Paul Toan, Memphis, Tenn.; and a grandchild, Bryan Lee William Meek.
The Rev. Jim Miller will conduct services at 1 p.m. Wednesday at Stewart Funeral Home, Scottsburg. Burial will be in Scottsburg Cemetery.
Friends may call from 5 p.m. to 9 p.m. today and after 10 a.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.
Memorials may be given to Oak Park Christian Social Ministries in care of the funeral home.
