Sultz below the Forest - 30 Jan 1877 Dear Beloved Brother, We Want to let you know that we received your most welcome letter. And read that your are still in good health. The same can also say of us. Shortly after you left here, I was sick about 18 weeks, of these I was in the hospital for 10 weeks. After that Mother took me home, but my brother refused to even help me as much to use his wagon to bring me home, besides begrudge me [?]ating at home. So I hired[?] out in the Highlands. To make money to support Mother, until I received the letter from you. After that I hired out in the lowland's at Sultz below the Forest to the Muntz, and Mother went to Maggies at [?Zufflen] home. I thought maybe you would send us some money at once as we read [out] of your letter, so I could come to America, if you know how I long to be with you, you surely help me, and send the money to come to you. I hope you won't let me wait long. There ain't a day or hour that I don't think of you. Be sure and send to me, as we are all away from home. Also I want to let you know that our Father died 1876/3/18. Since his death I have had lots of [?]. My brothers and sisters, Joseph and Maggie are treating me very mean, in fact they don't act like sister and brother to me. I think, dear brother, if you want me to come, that will help me and in return, I will pay back every cent it will take to get me over. I receive here for my labor 8 Frank's a month and this I have to turn over to Joseph. If I don't he collects it himself. This is my fortune here, if you don't help me. I can't say what will become of me. If I was with you I could explain it a whole lot better. I also want to let you know that Maggie [Fassel Nagirin ?] lef home and went to America and after she was there one year she died there. Your friend Rembold Grad and Henry Stoutz left and went to America. Special greetings from Mother, Brother and Sister and Brother-in-law and from your friend Sommen[gluth] With best regards from your sister Maria Heigwig Dear brother think of me and help me.
