Acton Listed As "Presumed Dead"

Cortland Corporal Missing In Action Since May 17, 1951

Corporal Floyd N. Acton, son of Mr. and Mrs. Howard Acton, Cortland R1, is among those from Indiana whom the Army has announced in Washington, D.C. as missing in action in Korea for more than one year and in whose cases a presumptive finding of death now has been made, according to the Associated Press.

Cpl. Acton was listed by the War Department as having been missing since May 17, 1951. He was a member of Company B, 138th Medium Tank Battalion, Indiana National Guard, before his federal service.

An older brother, Melvin, was wounded in action in Korea.
