Ewing Marine Lost in Action On Okinawa

Private First Class Clarence Hayes McConnell, of the U.S. Marine Corps, was killed in action May 10 on Okinawa, according to word received by his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Tellis J. McConnell, of Ewing.

Pfc. McConnell attended Brownstown High School, where he participated in athletics and was an active member of the Future Farmers of America organization in that school. He was baptized a member of the Christian Church while in the South Pacific.

Besides the father and mother, he is survived by one sister, Miss Audrey McConnell, of Ewing.
