Body of Soldier Is on Way Home

The body of Pfc. Marshall F. McKain, son of Mr. and Mrs. Louis R. McKain, living in Spraytown on Cortland R1, is included with the bodies of 23 Hoosier soldiers being returned to the United States aboard the Marquette Victory which was scheduled to dock at San Francisco on or agout Sunday, January 13, the Department of Defense has announced.

Pfc. McKain was killed in action in Korea late in October, 1951. He had been drafted September 9, 1950, and received his first Army training at Fort Knox, Kentucky. he was serving with the 858th Ordnance and Ammunition Company at the time of his death.

He attended Freetown High School and had been employed by the S.H. Berry sawmill, Seymour, and by Arvin Industries, Inc., in Columbus, prior to entering service.

Survivors include his parents, and a sister, Lois McKain, at home.
