Pfc. Morgan, With Infantry, Listed Missing

Seymour Man Had Served Previous Enlistment in Army-Was In Action in Germany

Pfc. Kenneth E. Morgan, of this city, had been missing in action since February 16 in Germany while fighting with the U.S. Infantry, according to an official telegram from the U.S. War Department received by his wife, Mrs. Eleanor Thias Morgan, of this city.

No details were given in the message, which stated a letter with further details would follow.

Pfc. Morgan was serving his second enlistment in the army. He served for several years in the regular army and during part of that time he was stationed at Hololulu in the Hawaiin Islands. He returned to this city and lived here for several years prior to entering the army during World War II on October 19, 1942.

Overseas Year Ago.

The local soldier took his basic training at Camp Barkeley, Texas and left the United States to go overseas in March, 1944. His wife last heard directly from him three weeks ago when she received a letter in which he wrote that he was slightly injured and was taking treatment in a hospital where he was to undergo an operation about February 1.

Pfc. Morgan is the son of the late Mr. and Mrs. Daniel Morgan, of this city, and spent his entire life here with the exception of his absence for army service. His wife is the former Miss Eleanor Thias and they are the parents of a son, Richard Lee, age three. A brother, Arthur Morgan lives at Crothersville and a sister Mrs. Harry Liebrand, lives at Greenfield.

Friends here are hopeful that his family soon will receive word that Pfc. Morgan has made his way back to the American lines or has been made a prisoner of war.
