Pvt. Howard H. Peek, son of Mr. and Mrs. R.E. Peek, Seymour R1, who recently entered the U.S. Army, has been transferred to the 42nd Inf. Div., Camp Gruber, Oklahoma, for his basic training, according to word received from the Fort Benjamin Harrison public relations office.

PVT. HOWARD H. PEEK

Pvt. Howard H. Peek, age thirty-three, son of Mr. and Mrs. R. E. Peek, 618 East Sixth street, was killed in action in France on July 6, relatives here were informed Monday. He went overseas in April with the U.S. Infantry.

Services Set For Pvt. Peek

Memorial services for Private Howard H. Peek, age thirty-three, son of Mr. and Mrs. R.E. Peek, 618 East Sixth street, who was killed in action in France on July 6, will be conducted at 10 o'clock Sunday morning at the First Baptist Church, with Dr. A.A. Cohn, pastor, in charge.

Pvt. Peek was with the U.S. Infantry, and had served overseas since April. Member of the family received word of his death Monday.

Communion service, traditionally observed at the First Baptist Church on the first Sunday of each month, will precede the memorial service, which will open with the playing of the "Star Spangled Banner". The congregation will sing the fourth verse of "America", and the choir will sing "God Bless Our Land."

The organist will play "What a Friend We Have in Jesus", and the minister will read the Scriptures. Mrs. Talmadge Cooper, soloist, will sing "Lest We Forget."

Dr. Cohn will speak on "Greater Love" as the memorial message. The organist will play "The Old Rugged Cross" and Dr. Cohn will offer prayer, followed by the playing of "Taps" by the organist.

"Abide With Me" will be used as the recessional.
