Brownstown Soldier Honored

Memorial services have been conducted from the Christian Church in Brownstown for another county youth, Staff Sergeant Dallas Curtis Spray, Jr. age twenty-five, who previously was reported killed in action.

The Rev. John U. Phelps, pastor of the church, was in charge of the special memorial, which was carried out as a theme of the church's regular morning worship service. Remarks concerning S/Sgt. Spray were included in the morning sermon delivered by the Rev. Mr. Phelps, who spoke on "Our American Heritage".

S/Sgt. Spray, the first man from that church to give his life in World War II, was killed in action in France on August 25. His parents, Mr. and Mrs. Dallas C. Spray, Sr., were unable to attend the service because of illness.
