Seymour Daily Tribune Jannie Abner November 14, 2006 March 4, 1907 - Nov. 14, 2006 Jannie Abner, 99, Norman, died at 9:15 a.m. Tuesday, Nov. 14, 2006, at her residence. Mrs. Abner was a member of Good Shepherd Lutheran Church, Medora, and a homemaker. Born March 4, 1907, in Ervin, Ky., she was a daughter of John Sidney Ginter and Lida Puckett Ginter, both of whom preceded her in death. In 1923, she married Pleas Abner, who preceded her in death in June 1974. Survivors include five sons, Harold Abner, Leesville, Boyd Abner, Columbus, Ernest L. Abner, Madison, Paul Abner, Lumberton, N.C., and David Abner, Norman; six daughters, Lida Jane Robertson, Bedford, Mary Lou Sharer, Columbus, Ethel Sally Stevens, Brownstown, Carolyn Thompson and Renotta Wilcox, both of Bedford, and Patty Nelson, Ranco Miraze, Calif.; a sister, Molly Bailey, Lexington, Ky.; 41 grandchildren, 70 great-grandchildren; and 43 great-great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by five sons, William Sidney Abner, Thomas Dewey Abner, Raymond L. Abner, Woodford Ray Abner and Robert L. Abner; six brothers, Oscar Ginter, Robert Ginter, Brown Ginter, Buford Ginter, Bennie Ginter and Garnie Ginter; and three sisters, Ethel Bailey, Nettie Courtney and Zettie Wheeler. The Rev. Larry Mallett will conduct funeral services at 11 a.m. Saturday at Hague Funeral Home, Medora. Burial will take place at Weddleville Lutheran Cemetery, Medora. Visitation will be from 4 p.m. to 9 p.m. Friday and from 10 a.m. until time of service Saturday at the funeral home. Memorials may be given to Good Shepherd Lutheran Church.
