Allman, 85, of 601 Euclid Ave., Seymour, died at 3:26 p.m. Tuesday at Jackson County Schneck Memorial Hospital's emergency room. He had been in failing health for 11 years. He was a pastor for more than 67 years and was founder and pastor of Seymour Christ Temple, where he served for 40 years. He was a member of Life Tabernacle in Salem and a member of the United Pentecostal Church Organization. He was also a retired building contractor. Mr. Allman was born March 24, 1900, in Jackson County, to William R. and Emma "Molly" Barr Allman. He lived all his life in Jackson County. He married Della E. Colvin on Oct. 23, 1922, in Brownstown, and she survives. Other survivors include a son, Raymond "Tiny" Allman, Seymour, a daughter, Mrs. Millard (Bonnita) Wineinger, Salem; a sister, Mrs. Raymond (Leona) Gaiter, Brownstown; six grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, a grandchild, a son, two brothers and two sisters. The funeral will be at 10:30 a.m. Friday at Apostolic Pentecostal Tabernacle, Seymour, with the Revs. Kenneth Mendenhall and Dennis Croucher officiating. Burial will be in Riverview Cemetery, Seymour. Friends may call from 2 p.m. until 9 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home and 9 a.m. until the time of services Friday at the church. Memorials may be sent to Life Tabernacle or to the donor's choice.
