Charles S. Anderson (1932 - 2016) Obituary Charles S. "Andy" Anderson, 83, of Canal Winchester, Ohio, entered eternal life Saturday, Feb. 20, 2016, at Wexner Heritage Village Hospice. Born May 13, 1932, in Freetown, he was the son of Hazel and Charles W. Anderson, both of whom preceded him in death. Charles was a member of Freetown Church of Christ. He served four years with the United States Air Force. During his time in the service, he was stationed in Berlin, France, Korea and other countries. He was a senior master sergeant, working as an aircraft maintenance supervisor on the 121st Ohio Air National Guard Base at Lockbourne, Ohio, with 32 years of service. In retirement, he was a woodworker for many years. He was a member of Tri-County Sportsman Club and the 121st Old Timers Breakfast Club. Survivors include his wife of 59 years, Marilyn Myers Anderson; daughters, Deborah (Bryon) Carley of Gahanna, Ohio, and April (Karl) Echstenkamper of Huntersville, North Carolina; grandchildren, Jennifer (Ben) Osborne, Kathleen and Greg Carley, all of Gahanna, and Adam, Allision and Emily Echstenkamper, all of Huntersville, North Carolina; sisters, Donna (Russ) Fritz, Marilyn (Lyle) Ault, Diane (Gene) Gillian and Elaine (J.D.) Francis; and a brother, Terry Anderson, all of Indiana; and a sister-in-law and brother-in-law, Clara and Tom Jones. Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother, Johnny Anderson. The funeral will be at 1 p.m. Thursday at Dwayne R. Spence Funeral Home, 650 W. Waterloo St., Canal Winchester, Ohio. Interment will be at Lithopolis Cemetery. Visitation will be from 5 to 7 p.m. today and from noon until time of service Thursday. Memorials may be made to Zusman Hospice, 1151 College Ave., Columbus, OH 43209.
