Seymour Tribune - January 1980 Edith Anderson Mrs. Edith Helen Anderson, 68, Seymour R1, died at 3 a.m. today at her home. She had been in failing health two years. A lifelong local resident, Mrs. Anderson was formerly employed with Arvin Industries and attended Faith Apostolic Tabernacle. Born Aug. 18, 1911, in Seymour, she was a daughter of the late Thomas and Cora Hinds Jaynes. On July 21, 1928, in Seymour, she married Sylvester E. Anderson, who survives. Also surviving are 15 children, Sylvester L. Anderson, Hayden; Mrs Paul (Barbara) Capps, Seymour; Mrs. Phillip (Sue) Buster, Seymour R5; Mrs. Glen (Patricia) Brooks, Seymour R1; Gary Anderson Sr., Seymour; James Anderson, Seymour R1; Damon Anderson, Seymour; Mrs. Butch (Nancy) Black, Seymour R1; Mrs. Clifford (Elaine) Knight, Scottsburg; Mrs. Anthony (Ramona) Combs, Seymour; John M. Anderson, Holton; Ricky Joe Anderson, at home. Also, two brothers, James Sr. and Harry Jaynes, both of Seymour; and three sisters, Mrs. Myrtle Ballard and Mrs. Agnes Henley, both of Indianapolis; and Mrs. Mary Trapp, Seymour; 49 grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by five sons. Services will be conducted at 10:30 a.m. Saturday at Voss Chapel with the Rev. Melvin Sapp officiation.
