Seymour Tribune Monday, Dec. 29, 1902 Page 2 ATTKINSON -Mrs. Laura Holmes Attkisson, wife of Cyrus J. Attkinson, died at the family home on north Poplar street, early Sunday morning. On Saturday she underwent a very difficult surgical operation; the surgeons removing a large tumor. She rallied after the operation but only for a short time. Death resulted between one and two o'clock Sunday morning. Mrs. Attkinson was born in 1857, her age being 45 years at the time of her death. She was a daughter of the late B. S. Holmes, who was a prominent resident -----land and Hamilton township. In 1873 she and Cyrus J. Attkinson were married. Two children, George L., of Evansville and Mrs. Pearl DeGolyer, of this city survive her. Mr. and Mrs. Attkinson became residents of Seymour in 1887. Mrs. Attkinson was a member of the Seymour Methodist church and took an active part in church work. She was held in high esteem by a wide circle of friends and acquaintances.
