Catherine P. Yost Ballard
Sept. 19, 1919 – May 22, 2006 
Catherine P. Yost Ballard, 86, Seymour, died at 7:50 p.m. Monday, May 22, 2006, at Methodist Hospital in Indianapolis.
Mrs. Ballard was a member of Seymour First Church of the Nazarene and retired from Excello Shirt Factory after 44 years. She was a member of Seymour Senior Citizens Club and Prime Time at church.
Born Sept. 19, 1919, in Jackson County, she was a daughter of John M. Anderson and Cora Elkins Anderson, both of whom preceded her in death. On Nov. 12, 1938, in Seymour, she married Harold M. Yost, who died March 15, 1984. On Dec. l7, 1998, in Seymour, she married William A. Ballard Sr., who survives. Other survivors include three children, Harold Dean (Sharon) Yost, Raymond L. (Karen) Yost and Greta (Stephen) Schlatterer; four stepchildren, William A. Ballard Jr., James Earl (Julia) Ballard, Robert L. (Marsha) Ballard Sr. and Kathy Sue (Paul) Ballard-Crane; seven grandchildren; 14 stepgrandchildren; six great-grandchildren; and several stepgreat-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by three brothers, Melvin, Frank and Sylvester Anderson, and four sisters, Avis Tidd, Mildred Lanier and Gladys and Marie Anderson.
The Rev. Steven Greene, the Rev. Ronald Cox and the Rev. Larry Tedrow will conduct funeral services at 10:30 a.m. Thursday at Seymour First Church of the Nazarene. Burial will take place at Riverview Cemetery.
Friends may call from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. today at Voss Chapel, Seymour, and from 9:30 a.m. until time of service Thursday at the church.
Memorials may be given to the church.
