Seymour Tribune Monday, February 19, 1962 Page 12 Funeral Tuesday For Former Local Resident Funeral services for Charles W. Ballard, 71, a former Seymour resident, will be conducted at 10 a.m. Tuesday from the Farley Funeral Home at Indianapolis. Burial in Floral Park Cemetery, Indianapolis. Friends may call at the Farley Funeral Home, 1604 West Morris Street, Indianapolis, until time for services. Mr. Ballard, who lived in Seymour several years ago while an employee of the Baltimore and Ohio Railroad roundhouse when it was operated here, died at 8:15 p.m. Friday at Veterans Hospital in Indianapolis. He had been in failing health for several years. He was the son of the late Mr. and Mrs. James Ballard. He was married to the former Edna Mae Compton, who survives, and the couple had celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary in 1961. He was a veteran of World War I. Two children preceded him in death. Survivors, in addition to the widow, include four sons, William Edward, Malcolm E., Edsel H., and Paul C. Ballard; four daughters: Mrs. Helen G. Gorl, Mrs. Zelma L. Elmore, Mrs. Wanda H. Rybolt, and Mrs. Donna J Laysdoce; three sister, Mrs. Hulda Donnells, Seymour R1, Mrs. Susan Brooks, of Seymour R1, and Flora Young, of Indianapolis, one brother, Henry Ballard, of Indianapolis, A brother-in-law, Clyde Compton, lives in Seymour. He is also aurvived by 40 grandchildren and 27 great-grandchildren.
