Seymour Daily Tribune Evelyn Mary Bane November 6, 2006 March 19, 1948 - Nov. 3, 2006 Evelyn Mary Bane, 81, Freetown, died at 2:30 p.m. Friday, Nov. 3, 2006, at Major Hospital, Shelbyville. Mrs. Bane was a building contractor and designer in Bartholomew County for 37 years. She was a member of Ole Forge Homes Inc., and graduated from LaSalle University. She attended Blackstone School of Law and Gods Bible College and wrote and published numerous gospel songs. Born March 19, 1925, in Freetown, she was a daughter of Edward Weekly and Ruby Spray, both of whom preceded her in death. On Oct. 19, 1948, in Louisville, she married Lawrence Bane, who survives in Freetown. She was preceded in death by one brother, Larry Weekly and one sister, Reva Weekly. Bishop Neal McCory will conduct funeral services at 1 p.m. Tuesday at Spurgeon Funeral Home, Brownstown. Burial will take place at Acme Cemetery, Seymour. Visitation will be from 10 a.m. until time of service Tuesday at the funeral home. Memorials may be given to donor's choice.
