Seymour Tribune - May 24, 2007 Martha A. Bartlett July 18, 1928 – May 23, 2007 Martha A. Bartlett, 78, Seymour, passed away Wednesday, May 23, 2007, at Heritage House of Seymour. Mrs. Bartlett was a member of First Baptist Church. She was also a member of the Tuesday Club and Tri Kappa Sorority in Seymour. She graduated from Warsaw High School and from St. Vincent Hospital as a registered nurse. She was employed at Jackson County Hospital for 36 years and worked at Dr. Bevers and Dr. Weir’s office for 17 years. Born July 18, 1928, in Marion, she was a daughter of Harry and Zora Eastes Covalt, both of whom preceded her in death. On May 6, 1950, at Sweeney Chapel on the Butler University Campus in Indianapolis, she married Gordon W. Bartlett, who also preceded her in death. Survivors include her daughter, Jane Thomas (Dennis) Arnholt, Seymour; her son, Paul (Sarah) Bartlett, Columbus; and four grandchildren, Christopher Thomas, Lisa Thomas, Holly Bartlett and Michael Bartlett. She was preceded in death by her twin sister, Mary Dixon; two sisters, Harriett Bird and Betty Pence; and her brother, Jack Covalt. The Rev. Marsha Rodenberger will conduct a memorial service at 6 p.m. Friday at Voss Chapel, Seymour. A gathering of friends will be conducted from 4 p.m. to 6 p.m. Friday at the funeral home. Memorials may be given to Hospice of Schneck Medical Center.
