Seymour Tribune - June 11, 2007 Ora L. Baute April 4, 1923 – June 8, 2007 Ora L. Baute, 84, Seymour, passed away at 10:15 p.m., Friday, June 8, 2007 at Lutheran Community Home, Seymour. Mrs. Baute was a member of St. Paul’s Lutheran Church in Jonesville. She was a secretary for the forestry service for 20 years. She was a loving wife and mother. Born April 4, 1923, in Cortland, she was a daughter of Herman Frederick and Linnie Kiel Mellencamp, both of whom preceded her in death. On Sept. 29, 1946, she married Carl Baute in Jonesville, who preceded her in death. Survivors include sons, David (Judy) Baute, St. Joseph, Mich., Dennis Baute, St. Louis, Steven (Marsha) Baute, Leesburg, Fla.; sister; Joy (Morris) Nolting, Jonesville; and four grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her son, Timothy Baute; brothers; Augustus Mellencamp and Paul Mellencamp; and sisters; Thelma Otting, Louise Kamman, and Marcia Middendorf. The Rev. Ed Keinath will conduct funeral services at 10 a.m. Tuesday at Redeemer Lutheran Church, Seymour. Burial will take place at St. Paul’s Cemetery in Jonesville. Friends may call from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. today at Redeemer Lutheran Church and from 9 a.m. until time of service Tuesday at Redeemer Lutheran Church. Memorials may be given to St. Paul’s Lutheran Church Scholarship Fund.
