The Tribune Seymour, Indiana Tuesday, July 25, 1905 Page 3 Mrs. H. A. Bear was laid to rest this afternoon in Riverview cemetery amidst the sympathy of a large circle of friends. She died on Saturday, July 22, at 11:40 in the morning while in the sanitarium at Jackson, Michigan, where she had been for the last three weeks. The body was brought to her home here Sunday monrning. Mrs. Bear was born October 13, 1878, in Hamilton county near Westfield, Her parents, Mr. and Mrs. J. H. Jeffries moved to Seymour when she was nine years of age and the remainder of her life was spent here in one continuous effort to be a help and blessing to her family and friends. She became a member of the First Methodist church at the age of twelve, and was an active worker here. Her helpful and enthusiastic work in the Epworth League was an inspiration to all who knew her. At the head of the Mercy and Help Department she brought aid to many in need and her cheering words of comfort and bright happy face will ever be remembered by them. She was married June 2, 1904, to Mr. H. A. Bear, of Terre Haute, and their home has been here with her parents since that time. She leaves a mother and father, grandmother, a brother and sister, her husband and infant son, Donald, to mourn her loss. A host of friends extend their sympathy to the bereaved family. Mrs. H. A. Bear was known by all her friends for her sunny disposition and power to comfort others in the hour of trouble. Her life was true and sincere and she was a cheerful and loyable daughter, sister and wife. She was ever patient in her suffering and her hopefulness even toward the end of life has a lesson in it or all. ~Transcribed by: Alexandria Sandlin.
