Seymour Tribune - March 2009 Louise (Rice) Bedel 1924 - 2009 Louise Bedel, 84, Seymour, passed away at 7:28 p.m. Thursday, March 19, 2009, at Covered Bridge Health Campus, Seymour. Mrs. Bedel worked for 10 years in housekeeping at Holiday Inn, Seymour, and two years at the Hayden Chicken Factory. Born in Sparta, White County, Tenn., on Nov. 19, 1924, she was the daughter of Beecher and Verna Scott Rice, both of whom preceded her in death. On April 20, 1945, she married Francis Bedel Sr. in Brownstown, and he preceded her in death Aug. 8, 2004. Survivors include a daughter, Rhonda Kay Engleking; three sons, Francis Bedel Jr., Randall Wayne Bedel and Garry Bedel; 17 grandchildren; and several great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by a son, Steven Bedel; three brothers, James Robert Rice, Ray Lee Rice and Clayton Eugene Rice; and a sister, Ruby Pauline Rice. Funeral services will be conducted at 10 a.m. Tuesday at Voss Chapel, Seymour. Burial will take place at Riverview Cemetery, Seymour. Friends may call from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. Monday and from 9 a.m. until time of service Tuesday at the funeral home.
