Seymour Daily Tribune January 7, 2002 Mildred C. Biggs Mildred C. Biggs, 89, of New Albany and formerly of Seymour, died at 1:55 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 5, 2002, at Autumn Woods Health Care Center in New Albany. She worked for Indiana Gas and Water Co. for 11 years and then was a bookkeeper for Sears for 11 years, retiring in 1977. She was a member of First United Methodist Church in Seymour and formerly attended Rockford United Methodist Church in Seymour. She was a member of Eastern Star and Eastern Star Club and was a 1930 graduate of Shields High School in Seymour. Born Oct. 19, 1912, in Jackson County, she was the daughter of George S. Crowe and Mabel Goen Crowe. On Oct. 22, 1930, in Scottsburg, she married Wilbur F. Biggs, who died March 11, 1999. Survivors include a daughter, Carlene Price (husband Larry), Louisville; two sons, James S. Biggs (wife Becky), New Albany, and Alan Biggs (wife Donna), Mason, Mich.; six grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren. A brother, Raymond Crowe, preceded her in death. The Rev. Neal Partain and Kenny Warbritton will conduct funeral services at 11 a.m. Wednesday at Myers Funeral Service, Burkholder Chapel, Seymour. Burial will be in Riverview Cemetery, Seymour. Friends may call from 3 p.m. to 7 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home. Memorials may be given to the First United Methodist Church Building Fund or Rockford United Methodist Church.
