Seymour Daily Tribune March 19, 2002 Doris M. Bishop Doris M. Bishop, 75, Springfield, Ill., died Saturday, March 16, 2002, at her home. Mrs. Bishop was an active member of Laurel United Methodist Church. She was a volunteer at Memorial Medical Center and at the University of Illinois, Springfield Auditorium. Born Jan. 9, 1927, in Marion County, Ill., she was a daughter of Ray E. and Inez M. McMeen. On March 25, 1951, in Sandoval, Ill., she married Eugene F. Bishop, who survives. Other survivors include two sons, Steven (wife, Michelle), College Station, Texas, and Craig (wife, Joan), Seymour; two daughters, Carolyn (husband, Jim) Waters, Bourbonnais, Ill., and Denise (husband, Rick) Elliott, Kankakee, Ill.; 10 grandchildren; two brothers, Harold and James Craig, both of Tucson, Ariz.; a sister, Mary Jane Judds, Lincoln, Neb.; and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by a grandson. The Rev. John Hamilton will conduct services at 11 a.m. Thursday at Boardman-Smith Funeral Chapel. Burial will be in Oak Ridge Cemetery, Springfield. Friends may call from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home. Memorials may be given to Laurel United Methodist Church or Hospice Care of Illinois.
