Seymour Daily Tribune March 4, 2002 Alpha Dean Black Alpha Dean Black, 68, Seymour, died at 7:07 p.m. Saturday, March 2, 2002, at Hoosier Christian Village in Brownstown. She had been in failing health for several years. Mrs. Black and her husband were owners of Black’s Market on West Tipton Street in Seymour. Born March 24, 1933, in Brown County, she was the daughter of John Thomas Barger and Ida Mae Mullis Barger. On Jan. 22, 1955, at Columbus, she married Ralph W. Black. He survives. Other survivors include three sons, Randall Black, Michael Black and Dennis Black, all of Seymour; a daughter, Linda Morris, Seymour; eight grandchildren, Kimberly Rohdert, Stacie Carter, Clinton Black, Amanda Black, Bradley Bowman, Brandy Bowman, Aaron Black and Kirstie Black; and three sisters, Lillie Brown and Marle Garrison, both of Columbus, and Delores Wright, Bloomington. Two brothers, Guy Barger and Clifford Barger, preceded her in death. Brother Larry Dalton will conduct services at 2 p.m. Thursday at Voss Chapel in Seymour with burial to be in Riverview Cemetery, Seymour. Friends may call from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. Wednesday and from noon until time of service Thursday at the funeral home. Memorials may be given to Hoosier Christian Village or Hospice of Jennings County.
