Blankenship, 77, Brownstown R1, Dies John Horace "Henry" Blankenship, 77, a resident of Jackson county practically all his life, died about noon Friday at the home of his daughter, Mrs. Addie Henson, town and one-half miles east of Brownstown on Brownstown R1. Death followed a lingering illness. Funeral services will be conducted agt 2 o'clock Monday afternoon from the Brownstown Baptist Church with the pastor in charge. Burial in the Brownstown Cemetery. Friends may call at the Kovener Funeral Home in Crothersville after 7 o'clock tonight. Mr. Blankenship was born March 5, 1876, in Jackson county to Sarah Shipley, who died in May, 1940. He was a member of the Browntown Baptist Church and was well known and held in high esteem by a wide circle of friends. He is survived by seven children: John Blankenship, of Indianapolis; Mrs. Addie Henson, at whose home he died; Mrs. Helen Day, of Gosport; Hiram Blankenship, of Spencer; Mrs. Hazel Elkins, of Paris Crossing; THomas Blankenship, of Brownstown and Floyd Blankenship, of Vallonia. A brother, Evin Blankenship, of Brownstown, a sister, Mrs. Mabel Payne, of Seymour, and several granchildren also survive.
