Seymour Daily Tribune January 23, 2007 Wilma U. Boggs May 29, 1920 - Jan. 21, 2007 Wilma U. Boggs, 86, North Vernon, died at 12:55 p.m. Sunday, Jan. 21, 2007, at Columbus Regional Hospital. Mrs. Boggs was a 1938 graduate of Vernon High School and attended Mountain Baptist Church in Seymour. She was a homemaker, had farmed with her husband and enjoyed raising miniature horses and gardening. Born May 29, 1920, in Jennings County, she was a daughter of William and Harriett Poole Bowyer. On June 15, 1945, in Ogilville, she married Ben A. Boggs, who died Dec. 13, 2005. Survivors include three sons, Ray A. Boggs, Dennis C. Boggs and Terry L. Boggs, all of North Vernon; a brother, Earl "Bud" Bowyer, Brookville, Ohio; a sister, Martha Galyen, Sardinia; nine grandchildren, Stacey Boggs, Louisville, Jeremy Boggs, Austin, Matthew Boggs and Teresina Jackson, both of Seymour, Amanda Sneed, Oklahoma City, Okla., Kelly Boggs, Bargersville, and Mikel Sweeney, Misty Sweeney and Jacquelyn Sweeney, all of North Vernon; and seven great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by a son, Dale L. Boggs; a grandson, Eric Boggs; two brothers, Floyd Bowyer and John Boywer; and a sister, Mildred Murr. The Rev. Van Breeding will conduct funeral services at 10 a.m. Wednesday at Dove-Sharp & Rudicel Funeral Home, North Vernon. Burial will take place at Hayden Cemetery. Friends may call from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. today at the funeral home. Memorials may be given to Hospice of South Central Indiana.
