Jean Alexander Bohall (1923 - 2016) Obituary Jean Alexander Bohall, 93, passed away Thursday, March 24, 2016, in Normal, Illinois. Born Feb. 24, 1923, in Shelby County, she was the daughter of Haskel and Sylvia Carpenter Alexander, both of whom preceded her in death. On Sept. 20, 1942, at Central Christian Church in Seymour, she married George E. Bohall, who survives. Jean graduated from Shields High School and was an outstanding secretary and stenographer working at Camp Atterbury near Edinburgh, Fort Benjamin Harrison, Naval Avionics and the U.S. Postal Service in Indianapolis. In retirement, she and George painstakingly restored Bedel Pioneer Cemetery in Vernon Township in Jackson County. Other survivors include two sons, Phillip T. (Patricia) Bohall, Springfield, Virginia, and Bruce R. (Mary Jane) Bohall, Bloomington, Illinois; grandsons, Kenji (Melody) Bohall, Springfield, Virginia, Jimmu (Val) Bohall, Dunfries, Virginia, James (Jeanie) Bohall, Jacksonville, Florida, and Charles (Abby) Bohall, Longmont, Colorado; two great-grandchildren, Sora and Walter; and a sister, Sophia Stanfield of Seymour. Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by a brother, Robert Alexander; and sisters, Naomi Williams, Dorothy Alexander, Mary Jerrell, Christine Zickler, June Eglehaut, Nancy Malone and Ruth Murphy. A memorial service and interment will be held at a later date at Uniontown Baptist Cemetery. Memorials may be made to the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation at cff.org/colorado.
