Seymour Daily Tribune February 19, 2002 Thurman Bowers Thurman Bowers, 84, Haleysburg, died at 7:08 a.m. Sunday, Feb. 17, 2002, at Washington Memorial Hospital. Mr. Bowers was a retired sawmill operator and attended Haleysburg Nazarene Church. Born Jan. 27, 1918, in Washington County, he was a son of Amos Bowers and Anna Lee Sutton Bowers. He was a life-long resident of Washington County. On May 17, 1937, in Washington County, he married Edith Irene Reynolds. She survives. Other survivors include seven children, Joseph L. Bowers, Little York, C. Wayne Bowers, Medora, Lonney C. Bowers, Campbellsburg, T. Dale Bowers, Sparksville, R. Dean Bowers, Haleysburg, Linda Kay Walls, Paoli, and Norma Jean McFelea, Campbellsburg; 28 grandchildren; 37 great-grandchildren; and a sister, Doris Treadway, Haleysburg. Two brothers, a sister and two grandchildren preceded him in death. The Rev. Mark Roberts will conduct services at 1 p.m. Wednesday at Johnson Funeral Home in Vallonia. Burial will be in Vallonia Cemetery. Friends may call from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. today and from 11 a.m. until time of service Wednesday at the funeral home. Memorials may be given to the Emphysema Foundation.
