Seymour Daily Tribune Amelia Marie Montgomery Bradbury November 13, 2006 Aug. 12, 1924 - Nov. 8, 2006 Amelia Marie Montgomery Bradbury, 82, Madison, died at 3:45 a.m. Wednesday, Nov. 8, 2006, at King's Daughters' Hospital, Madison. Mrs. Bradbury was employed from 1951 until 1956 at the Charlestown Ammunition Plant and in 1956 she began a career with the U.S. Shoe Corporation, retiring in January 1977 as a shoe cutter. She was a member of the Madison-Jefferson County Senior Citizens, the Women of the Madison Moose Lodge, First Christian Church of Hanover and New Hope Baptist Church near Chelsea. She enjoyed spending time with her family, raising flowers, telling stories, dancing and her poodle "Prissy." Born Aug. 12, 1924, in Clark County, she was a daughter of Arley C. and Myra Weaver Montgomery, both of whom preceded her in death. On Nov. 6, 1940, she married Archie Stearns, who preceded her in death. On Nov. 21, 1970, in Madison, she married Willard "Brad" Bradbury, who preceded her in death. Survivors include one daughter, Sandy (Fred) Stillwell, Lexington; one son, Larry (Martha) Stearns, North Vernon; one step-daughter, Shelly Raisor, Madison; one sister, Ruth Reed, New Washington; two brothers, Sam Montgomery, New Washington, and Joe Montgomery, Hanover; 12 grandchildren, Jeff, Brian, Joe, Tyler, William, Robert, Matthew, Mark, Brad, Katie, Becky and Daniel; 10 great-grandchildren; one great-great-granddaughter; and several nieces, nephews and other relatives. She was preceded in death by one step-son, Steven "Brad" Bradbury. Funeral services were held Sunday at New Hope Baptist Church, Lexington. Burial took place at Mt. Zion Cemetery. Memorials may be given to New Hope Baptist Church or Hospice of King's Daughters' Hospital. Arrangements were handled by Morgan & Nay Funeral Centre, Madison.
