Seymour Tribune - June 6, 2009 Mr. James Jay Brennen 1947 - 2009 James Jay Brennen, 61, Seymour, passed away at 11:45 a.m. Thursday, June 4, 2009, at St. Vincent Heart Center, Indianapolis. Mr. Brennen was of the Lutheran faith. He served in the U.S. Army during the Vietnam War. He had been on disability from Cummins Engine Co. since 1992. He enjoyed life, his family and liked being around the guys at the Bowman dealership. Born Nov. 29, 1947, in Jersey City, N.J., he was the son of Edward Michael Brennen I and Margaret Madden Brennen, both of whom preceded him in death. On July 18, 1977, he married Marilyn Sue Pray, who survives. Other survivors include his daughter, Michelle (Greg) Stephens; son, Edward Michael (Tracey) Brennen III; two grandchildren, Zachery and Shelby Stephens; fianc?e, Conni Atteberry; sister, Mary Jane (Patrick) Burton; and many nieces, nephews and cousins. He was preceded in death by three brothers, Edward Michael Brennen II, Walter Brennen, and Jerry Brennen. The Rev. Philip Bloch will conduct funeral services at 1 p.m. Monday at Voss Chapel, Seymour. Burial will take place at White River Valley Cemetery, Medora, with a Voss dove release and full military graveside rites conducted by Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 1925, American Legion Post 89, Disabled American Veterans 47 and Korean and Vietnam Veterans, all of Seymour. Friends may call from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. Sunday and from noon until time of service Monday at the funeral home.
