Seymour Tribune - December 20, 2007 Charles Curtis Brock July 23, 1930 - Dec. 19, 2007 Charles Curtis Brock, 77, Brownstown, passed away at 7:10 a.m. Wednesday, Dec. 19, 2007, at Veterans Administration Hospital, Louisville. Mr. Brock was owner-operator of Brocks Used Cars and Auto Parts, Freetown, for 30 years. He was a member of Ratcliff Grove Christian Church and of the Veterans of Foreign Wars and Disabled American Veterans, both of Seymour. He served in the U.S. Army as a corporal in the Korean War. He enjoyed his family and his past-time activities, which included fishing and flea marketing. Born July 23, 1930, in Freetown, he was the son of Albert Curtis and Ethel Pearl Hackler Brock, both of whom preceded him in death. He was the husband of Shirley Ann Wise Brock, whom he married Oct. 22, 1952, in Freetown. She survives. Other survivors include four daughters, Sharon (Phillip) Allman, Rita (Fred) Chadd, Brenda (Bob) Wilson and Bonnie (James) Joseph; eight grandchildren, David Chadd, Kelly Allman, Jamey Allman, Angie Reichenbacker, Leslie Nolan, Kaci Wilson, Amber Smith and Aaron Smith; seven great-grandchildren; and a cousin, George (Dorma) Hackler. He was preceded in death by a sister, Louisa (Janie) Carr. The Rev. Bill Weaver will conduct funeral services at 10 a.m. Saturday at Voss Chapel, Seymour. Burial will take place at Riverview Cemetery, Seymour, with a Voss dove release. Full military graveside rites will be conducted by VFW Post 1925, American Legion Post 89, DAV and Vietnam Veterans, all of Seymour. Friends may call from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. Friday and from 9 a.m. until time of service Saturday at the funeral home. Memorials may be given to Seymour Christian Church.
