Hubert Gene Brooks "George"
1944 - 2009 
Hubert Gene "George" Brooks, 65, Seymour, passed away at 7:04 p.m. Monday, Oct. 26, 2009, at his home in Jackson County.
He was born Aug. 7, 1944, in Jackson County to William K. and Evelyn M. Easter Brooks. He worked for 27 years at H.O. Canfield, until 1990, and was a lifelong grain and livestock farmer. George was an avid hunter and loved his hunting dogs.
He is survived by his parents; one brother, Clyde Brooks; one nephew, Buck (Karen) Brooks, Seymour; two nieces, Barbara (Eric) Applewhite, Seymour, and Corinnia (Randy) Bryant, Franklin; and several great-nieces and -nephews.
He was preceded in death by his sister-in-law, Dorothy Brooks.
Graveside funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Thursday at Reddington Cemetery, with the Rev. D.C. Long officiating.
