The Tribune Seymour, Indiana Monday, April 12, 1897 Page 3 DIED Died, April the 8th, 1897, near Kurtz, Ind., Mrs. Catherine Brown, aged 78 years. Catherine Richison was born near Lexington, Ky., in 1819, she came to this state with her parents in 1825 when she was 6 years old, and settled on a farm now owned by William Alexander, on mile west of Kurtz. At 18 years of age (1837), whe was married to Alfred Brown and to them were born four children, two of whom are still living. Her husband died some 21 years ago. She has lived all of her life in this county and the last fifty years in the house where she died, except one year which she spent in Minnesota. She is one of two of the oldest settlers of this county. She was an excellent woman, good mother and kind neighbor. No one can say that he ever went to Aunt Kit Brown in distress and came away empty handed.
