Leslie Donald "Don" Brown
1931 - 2009 

Leslie Donald "Don" Brown, 77, Dupont, passed away at 8:40 a.m. Sunday, March 8, 2009, at his residence.
Leslie Donald entered this life on July 26, 1931, in Corbin, Ky., the son of Odessie and Delphia Kinnett Brown, both of whom preceded him in death.
He was raised in Russell County, Ky., and later resided in Franklin from 1960-1997. He had resided the last 11 years in Dupont.
Inducted into the United States Army on Oct. 19, 1951, in Corbin, Ky., Brown rose to the rank of corporal serving during the Korean War. He was honorably discharged on Oct. 18, 1954, in Presidio of San Francisco, receiving the Korean Service Medal, the United Nations Service Medal, National Defense Service Medal, Presidential Unit Citation and Combat Infantry Badge. He farmed early in life and was a self-employed carpenter most of his life. He also worked for several years at Camp Atterbury in maintenance. He was a member for many years at Amity Baptist Church and served as a Boy Scout leader. After moving to Dupont, he attended First Baptist Church of Dupont. He enjoyed woodworking and gardening.
On Sept. 15, 1997, in Crossville, Tenn., he was united in marriage to Rosia Kathryn Whitaker Wade, who survives.
Other survivors include his daughter, Debra Kay Brown, Brownstown; three stepsons, Douglas Wade, Dupont, Ralph (Daphane) Wade, New Castle, and Victor (Deidra) Wade, Livermore, Calif.; grandsons, Allan Hendley and Curtiss Hendley; stepgrandsons, Jason, Joshua and Christian Wade; great-grandchildren, Jamison, Cheyanne, Rutherford, Lela and Anna Hendley; and several nieces, nephews and other relatives.
He was preceded in death by his parents and his brother, Curtis Ross Brown.
Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. Wednesday at Morgan and Nay Funeral Centre, Madison. Burial with full military graveside honors by American Legion Jefferson Post 9 will be conducted at the Indiana Veteran's Memorial Chapel, Madison.
Visitation will be from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. Tuesday and from 9 a.m. until time of service Wednesday at the funeral home.
