Bernard Bush Seymour Tribune Bernard “Bernie” Bush, 79, Seymour, died 11 p.m. Monday, June 25, 2007 at the Schneck Medical Center in Seymour. After graduating from Shields High School class of 1946 he entered the military where he reached the rank of sergeant in the United States Army. He fought and served his country during the Korean War. After the war he came home and then married Theora A. Holmes on August 15, 1953. She died March 12, 2006. After the military, he worked for Ahlbrand Cabinet Factory, WJ Abraham Construction Company, owned and operated a building and construction company, Wolohan Lumber Yard, Bender Lumber and Wal-Mart in the paint and hardware department. He was involved in K of P, Cub and Boy Scout Master, coached in Seymour Little League Baseball, past president of the PTA at Redding School, Redding Township Trustee, and bowled in a Thursday night league. He was born in Medora on December 21, 1927, a son of the late William A. and Nellie Pansy (Booker) Bush. He is survived by two daughters, Darlene Bowen of Indianapolis and Debbie Bush, Seymour; a son, Dan Bush; son-in-law, Thomas A. Bowen, Jr.; one brother, Russell L. Bush, Missouri; and two sisters, Norma Short, Calif. and Jo Carpenter, Seymour. Several nieces and nephews also survive. He was also preceded in death by brothers: Gerald, Harold and Donald Bush; and sisters: Venita Jean McAuliffe and Ruth Fox. Friends may call at Voss Chapel today, Thursday 4-8 p.m. and Friday after 10 a.m. Funeral service will be on Friday, June 29, at 11 a.m., at Voss Chapel with Rev. Bruce Cochran and Rev. Larry Tingle officiating. Burial will follow at Riverview Cemetery, Seymour. Full military graveside rites will be conducted by the VFW, American Legion, DAV, Korea and Vietnam organization all of Seymour. Memorials may be given to the First Baptist Church or IU Medical Foundation for Cancer Center.
