Ervin E. "Gene" Bush
Ervin E. "Gene" Bush, 63, Westport, died at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday Jan. 24, 2007, at Methodist Hospital, Indianapolis.
Mr. Bush retired from Cummins Engine Company as a design engineer where he had worked for 34 years. He was an outdoorsman, and especially enjoyed running his chain saw and spending time with his grandchildren.
Born March 23, 1943, in Seymour, he was a son of Ervin L. and Hazel Goen Bush, both of whom preceded him in death. He married Daris Fields on Sept. 8, 1990. She survives.

Other survivors include his sons David (Marianne) Bush, Westport, Michael Bush, Greensburg and Daniel (Dawn) Bush, Dallas, Ga; stepson, Jeffrey Littrell, Columbus; brother, Jack (Rita) Bush, Seymour; sisters, Carolyn (Joe) Ross, Sardinia, and Bonita (Danny) Harper, Hope; six grandchildren and two step grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by a sister, Brenda Bradley.
The Rev. David Scaggs will conduct funeral services at 1 p.m. Saturday at Barkes, Weaver & Glick Funeral Home, Washington Street, Columbus. Burial will take place at Garland Cemetery, Columbus.
Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. today and from noon until time of service Saturday at the funeral home.
Memorials may be given to the Westport Volunteer Fire Department.
