Joan M. "Joannie" (Bohall) Carpenter (1955 - 2015)

Joan M. "Joannie" Bohall Carpenter, 60, of Seymour, passed away Tuesday, August 11, 2015, at home with her family by her side.

Born May 11, 1955, in Seymour, she was the daughter of Vallee R. and Joan M. Donnelly Bohall, both of whom preceded her in death. On August 2, 1975, at St. Ambrose Catholic Church in Seymour, she married John Carpenter, who survives.

Joan was a member of St. Ambrose Catholic Church. She graduated from Seymour High School in 1973. She retired from St. Ambrose Catholic School after 23 years of service. She then worked for many years as a receptionist in Dr. Charles Calhoun's medical office.

Besides her husband, she is survived by two children, Jennifer (David) Urbanski and Jessica (Michael) Payne; three grandchildren, Claire Urbanski, Cael Urbanski and Max Payne; two brothers, Richard M. Bohall and William J. Bohall; two sisters, Maggie (Ricky Joe) Luedeman and Patricia (Craig) Tormoehlen; and several nieces and nephews.

The funeral Mass will be at 4 p.m. Friday at St. Ambrose Catholic Church with Father Dan Staublin officiating. Burial will be at a later date at St. Ambrose Catholic Cemetery.

Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. today at Voss Chapel in Seymour and from 3 p.m. until time of service Friday at the church. A rosary service will be at 3:30 p.m. today at Voss Chapel.

Memorial donations may be made to St. Ambrose Catholic School.
