Seymour Daily Tribune May 4, 2002 Thomas F. Carter Thomas F. Carter, 67, Scottsburg, died Thursday, May 2, 2002, at Clark Memorial Hospital, Jeffersonville. Mr. Carter was an inspector for the Indiana Department of Transportation. He was a former co-owner of the old Sears Catalog Store in Scottsburg, a former inspector for AECON Engineering Co. in Bloomington, and a member of the Scott County Moose Family Center 2324. He resided in Scottsburg for 67 years. Born Oct. 3, 1934, in Jackson County, he was a son of Fred J. Carter and Catherine A. East, who both preceded him in death. He is survived by his wife, Shirley A. Carter, Scottsburg; a son, Jeff Carter, Scottsburg; two daughters, Lisa Lizenby, Scottsburg, and Laura Davis, Seymour; four brothers, Jerry Carter, Scottsburg, Kenneth F. Carter, Michigan City, Larry J. Carter, Paris Crossing, and James L. Carter, Jeffersonville; a sister, Wilma D. Royalty, Scottsburg; four grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. Larry DeWitt will conduct funeral services at 2 p.m. Sunday at Collins Funeral Home, Scottsburg. Burial will be at Scottsburg Cemetery, Scottsburg. Friends may call from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. today and from 10 a.m. until time of services Sunday at the funeral home.
