Seymour Daily Tribune April 4, 2002 Andy Chandler Andy Chandler, 72, Scottsburg, died Tuesday, April 2, 2002, at Scott villa, Scottsburg. Mr. Chandler was a cemetery caretaker and grave digger. Born July 28, 1929, in Clay County, Ky., he was a son of Frank Chandler and Alice Gay Chandler, and they both preceded him in death. He married Virdia Mae Chandler and she also preceded him in death. He is survived by five sons, Billy Joe Chandler, Salem, Kenneth Chandler, Squier Chandler and Larry Chandler, all of Scottsburg, and Rick Chandler, Austin; four daughters, Rosalee McQueen and Sophia Chandler, both of Scottsburg, and Annette Robbins and Sarah Bookout, both of Lafayette; four brothers, Tayler Chandler and Joe Chandler, both of Austin, Willard Chandler, Madison, and Mallard Chandler, Clya County, Ky.; two sisters, Vernie Gilbert and Malveria Burns, both of Clay County; and 20 grandchildren. Funeral services were to be conducted at 10:30 a.m. today at Buchanan Funeral Home, Austin. Burial was to follow at Scottsburg Cemetery, Scottsburg.
