Seymour Daily Tribune January 19, 2007 Dinah K. Charles Dinah K. Charles, 60, Seymour, died at 6:30 p.m. Tuesday, Jan. 16, 2007, at Schneck Medical Center, Seymour. Mrs. Charles attended Kurtz Nazarene Church. She was employed with Cummins Engine Co., Walesboro, and attended Houston and Clearspring High School. She liked to read and sew and was a great cook and enjoyed family genealogy, poems and songs. Born Dec. 8, 1946, in Columbus, she was a daughter of Mosier and Retha Smallwood Kirts. Her father died Nov. 22, 2006, and her mother survives at Houston. On Feb. 22, 1963, in Kurtz, she married Monta L. Charles, who also survives. Other survivors include three sons, Monta (Linda) Charles Jr., John M. Charles and Mike D. Charles, all of Seymour; two daughters, Candi S. Charles, North Vernon, and Nora A. (James) Trapp, Seymour; two brothers, Mosier "Bud" (Sharon) Kirts and Robert (Betty) Kirts, both of Houston; and three sisters, Doris Day (James Greathouse) and Sharon (Jesse) Lucas, both of Brownstown, and Christy (Rondal) Jackson, Medora, 13 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren. The Rev. Kevin Ridder will conduct funeral services at 10:30 a.m. Saturday at Spurgeon Funeral Home, Brownstown. Burial will take place at a later date. Friends may call from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. today and from 9:30 a.m. until time of service Saturday at the funeral home. Memorials may be given to the donor's choice.
