Roscoe E. Christopher
July 15, 1923 – April 27, 2007 
Roscoe E. Christopher, 83, Dudleytown, passed away at 1:07 a.m. Friday, April 27, 2007, at St. Vincent Hospital, Indianapolis.
Mr. Christopher served in the U.S. Army during World War II. He was a lifelong farmer in Jackson County. He also worked for Robertson Feed Mill and Producers Marketing Association. He retired in 1984. He was a member of Emanuel Lutheran Church in Dudleytown, where he held various church offices through the years. He enjoyed being with all his family, gardening, woodworking and raising animals.
Born July 15, 1923, in Jackson County, he was a son of Edward and Hannah Miller Christopher, both of whom preceded him in death. On April 29, 1945, at St. John’s Lutheran Church, Sauers, he married Bernice E. VonDielingen, who survives.
In addition to his wife of 62 years, survivors include five daughters, Betty (Dennis) Noel, Seymour, Joyce (Bob) Lucas, Brownstown, Kathleen (Joseph) Kerkhof, Seymour, Nancy (Jay) Cherry, Seymour, and Denise (Mark) Nichols, Dudleytown; 14 grandchildren, Daniel Noel and Jennifer (Kevin) Alberring, Columbus, James (Julia) Lucas and Janet (Sam) Lee, all of Brownstown, Jason Lucas, Cincinnati, Jeffrey Lucas, Brownstown, Kyle (Angela) Kerkhof and Eric Kerkhof, both of Seymour, Emily Kerkhof, Champaign, Ill., Lindsey (Kyle) Turner, Columbus, Brian Cherry, Indianapolis, and Christopher Nichols, Lori (Kevin Lister, fiancé) Nichols and Alyssa Nichols, all of Dudleytown; nine great-grandchildren, Trevor and Ethan Alberring, Columbus, Matthew and Rebecca Lucas and Elizabeth, Erika and Erin Lee, all of Brownstown, and Hannah and Drew Kerkhof, Seymour; and a twin brother, Arno Christopher, Seymour.
He was preceded in death by two brothers, Osmar and Leslie Christopher; a granddaughter, Kendra Kerkhof; two great-grandsons, Jacob and Evan Lucas; and a son-in-law, Robert Lucas.
The Rev. Scott Kozisek will conduct funeral services at 11 a.m. Monday at Emanuel Lutheran Church, Dudleytown. Burial will follow at the church cemetery, with military graveside rites to be performed by Lewis Schill Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 1083, Crothersville.
Friends may call from 2 p.m. to 6 p.m. Sunday at Burkholder Funeral Chapel, Seymour, and from 10 a.m. until the time of the service Monday at the church.
