Seymour Daily Tribune Velma Sterling Clark November 3, 2006 Velma Sterling Clark, 75, died at 9:05 p.m. Wednesday, Nov. 1, 2006, at Hospice of South Central Indiana. Mrs. Clark was a member of Peter's Switch Nazarene Church, Seymour. She was a cook for the Bartholomew County school system and also was a cook at the Bartholomew County Juvenile Center in Columbus. Born Sept. 29, 1931, she was a daughter of Emmett and Alice Dowling Sterling, both of whom preceded her in death. On Oct. 1, 1949, in Brownstown, she married James Clark, who died Nov. 23, 2004. Survivors include two daughters, Vickie (John) Clark Fox, Columbus, and Sharon Clark (Larry) Hudson, Seymour; two sons, Barry Clark and Kevin (Milissa Mease) Clark, both of Columbus; a brother, Charles (Carolyn) Sterling, Seymour; four sisters, Waneeta Shaw, Columbus, and Patty (Richard) Elmore, Carolyn (Eddie) Carr and Brenda (Martin) Findley, all of Seymour; 10 grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by a brother, Leroy Sterling. The Rev. Andy Burnette will conduct services at 11 a.m. Monday at Peter's Switch Nazarene Church, Seymour. Burial will take place at Riverview Cemetery, Seymour. Visitation will be from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. Sunday at Voss Chapel, Seymour, and from 10 a.m. until time of service Monday at the church. Memorials may be made to Peter's Switch Church, Hospice of South Central Indiana or the American Cancer Society.
