Gregory Allen Cloud

Gregory Allen "Greg" Cloud, 32, Lexington, died at 6 a.m. Wednesday, Nov. 1, 2006, at a house fire at Madison, near Kent.
Mr. Cloud resided all his life in Jefferson County and was a 1992 graduate of Southwestern High School where he played summer softball. He attended Ivy Tech and Indiana University Southeastern, receiving his waste water license. He had worked early in life at Wal-Mart Distribution Center in Seymour as a tow motor operator. For the past 10 years he had worked for Arkema at Carrolltown, Ky., serving as the power house operator, TRS and waste water management. He was a dedicated firefighter #2308 for the Kent Volunteer Fire Company for the past three years. He enjoyed membership in the Madison Bass Masters Club. He was raised in and attended the Open Door Baptist Church at Deputy. He was an avid fisherman and hunter. He served in the Indiana National Guard and was honorably discharged for his service. He had a caring nature, devoted friendship and warm smile and will be missed in his home, his family and his fire company. 
Born June 21, 1974, in Madison, he was a son of Dennis Ray and Pamela Sue Watterson Cloud, both of whom survive. On Sept. 30, 2000, he married Melinda Sue "Mindy" Aulbach, at First Baptist Church in downtown Madison. She survives.
Other survivors include a brother, Coby (Cortney) Cloud; maternal grandmother, Mary Watterson, Lexington; paternal grandmother, Mary Cloud, Lexington; a niece, Ashlyn Cloud, three nephews, Colton and Peyton Cloud and Michael Niedenthal; father-in-law and mother-in-law, Michael and Mary Aulbach, Madison; brother-in-law, Gregory Aulbach, Logansport; grandmother-in-law's, Alice Niedenthal, Rushville and Edith Aulbach, Elizabethtown, Ky.; many aunts, uncles, cousins and other relatives; and god-brother, Cory Madison, Lexington.
He was preceded in death by maternal grandfather, William L. Watterson, paternal grandfather, Homer Cloud, uncle, Terry William Watterson, and cousins, Toni Cloud and Alesha Shelton. The Rev. Michael Carmmack will conduct funeral services at 2 p.m. Sunday at Southwestern High School Delbert O. King Gymnasium. Burial will take place at Grandview Memorial Gardens, Madison, with full honors by Indiana firefighters.
Visitation will be from 1 p.m. to 8 p.m. Saturday and from noon to time of service Sunday at the high school.
Memorials may be given to Fishing For Kids or Kent Volunteer Fire Company. Arrangements were handled by Morgan and Nay Funeral Centre, Madison.
